Acting

Summer Acting Intensive

Get ready for an incredibly exciting eight-week adventure into the world of theater!

In this intensive course, you'll dive into the concept of Devised Theatre, where we create everything ourselves!      Guided by our master instructor, you'll come up with a story or play, assign roles, design costumes, sets, lighting, and music, and then stage a performance starring you and your classmates.

This course is packed with fun acting exercises, all carefully chosen to help us build an amazing performance by the end of the eight weeks. In the first four weeks, we'll brainstorm and write our story, develop characters, design settings and costumes, and figure out how to bring it all to life. The second month is all about rehearsals, where we'll mix in specific acting exercises while we work on perfecting our show.

By the end of the course, you'll feel confident in given circumstances (which helps in real-life situations too), learn how to interact with your stage partners (boosting your relationship skills), unleash your imagination, and enhance your communication skills. You'll also get to know the basics of playwriting and writing (great for school projects or business emails), understand directing principles, and so much more.

Our class will have no more than 15 students, ensuring a personalized experience. This course is perfect for everyone, whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, no matter your age or future plans.

This course is open for ages 11 to 16 and 16 to 105.

All our classes are conducted in English and/or Russian, depending on the students' preferences.

In the second month, we will focus on a single type of exercise, from which we will create a small performance at the end of our training. This will be an incredibly interesting and creative process!

We'll divide each class into 2 one-hour sections. The first hour will be a fascinating acting training
with all kinds of fun and useful exercises that all the actors on Broadway and around the world do.
In our second hour, we'll work on song selection for each student (or duets, or even trios!).
We'll discuss each student's preferences, choose the perfect song, and work on it.
At the end of the semester, those who are ready will have a small recital for parents and friends.

Acting. Basics. Level 1 not offered in Summer

This course serves as an introduction to the fundamentals of acting.

Students will engage in exercises designed to develop attention and imagination, master the fourth wall (public solitude), and practice imitation. They will also work on partner exercises, individual and group improvisation.

Many of the exercises are conducted in a playful manner, making the classes both interesting and exciting. In addition, we will focus on script analysis and speech.

The methods used in this course are based on the principles of renowned theater schools, including those of Konstantin Stanislavsky, Michael Chekhov, and Lee Strasberg.

Students will learn the basic principles of acting, practice active listening with themselves and their partners, enhance their imagination, and gain a better understanding of their bodies. The basics of acting are crucial for those aspiring to act in films, dedicate themselves to the stage, or simply pursue acting as a hobby.

Exercises aimed at developing attention, understanding a partner on stage (whether friends, relatives, or work colleagues), enhancing imagination, and getting to know one's body can naturally help improve personal qualities and overall quality of life.

This course is open to ages 10-18 and 18+.

At the end of the school year, we will perform a live show in front of an audience. Students who have regularly attended classes will be cast in the show.

Classes are conducted in English and/or Russian, depending on the students' preferences.
