About me
Hi there!
I'm Elena Vardy, an actress, singer, theatre director, puppeteer, and teacher. My journey in the arts began when I started singing at the age of four, and I've been dedicated to the performing arts ever since. After high school, I joined the Tbilisi Russian Theatre for Youth and Children, where I spent nine wonderful years performing in musical shows, classical plays, and puppet theatre.
My career then took me to Moscow, where I found my home in a musical theatre, trained in theatrical direction, and started doing solo concerts and puppet shows. It was also in Moscow that I discovered my passion for teaching. I began teaching acting and singing there before moving to the USA.
In the USA, I pursued musical theater training with Broadway instructors and fell in love with American musical theater. I am now a proud member of Actors' Equity Association and actively audition for musical and dramatic roles. I also sing with a local rock band in Philadelphia and teach acting and singing classes.
My directorial experience includes working as an assistant director on an Off-Broadway show and directing a production at Rider University. I've also performed in a major Broadway-style show at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia and completed an apprenticeship at Walnut Street Theatre.
To enhance my teaching skills, I completed the New York Vocal Coaching Vocal Pedagogy course and a TESOL certification. Currently, I'm working on a second bachelor's degree in Theater and Film & Television and planning to pursue a Master's degree in Voice Pedagogy. I teach both privately and online, sharing my knowledge and experience with my students.
My mission is not only to share my knowledge but to become a true mentor to my students, just as my own teachers, to whom I am immensely grateful, were for me. I want my students to find a home in my studio and, perhaps, in their new profession.
